INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM: ROTATIONS

PGY - 1

  • 6-7 Blocks General Medicine Service
  • 2-3 Blocks MICU and CCU
  • 1 Block Emergency Medicine
  • 1 Block Night Float
  • 1 Block Special Ambulatory Studies
  • 1 Block Elective

PGY - 2/PGY - 3

  • 6 Blocks supervising resident / General Medicine Inpatient Service
  • 4 Blocks supervising resident / MICU and CCU
  • 1 Block Consult Service
  • 1 Block Resident / Junior Teaching Faculty on MICU/CCU
  • 14 Blocks of Subspecialty and Elective Rotations

In addition to block rotations, the residents have the following longitudinal experiences:

  • A one-year, long-term care experience with a self-contained Geriatrics curriculum
  • A weekly primary care clinic throughout all three years
  • A weekly private physician office experience in the PG-2 and PG-3 years
